How You Can Make an Impact
As the HR Assistant, you will take on the responsibility of union new-hire orientation and employee record-keeping utilizing our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and employee files. You will learn from the entire HR team while providing integral support for their administrative and clerical tasks. This position will be required to start at 6:30 AM at least two days a week.

How You Will Contribute
  • Process union new hire employee onboarding and new hire follow-up calls post-onboarding.
  • Complete I-9 forms, verify I-9 documentation, and maintain I-9 files, including monthly and annual audits.
  • Conduct and review pre-employment background checks for union employees.
  • File Chain of Custody forms and drug test results for union members pre-employment and random drug tests.
  • Assist with our union workforce (Manpower) requests and tracking processes.
  • Maintain confidential record keeping including filing all employee documents sent to HR.
  • Complete Department of Transportation verification of employment for DOT Regulated employees.

What You Bring to the Table
  • High school diploma or GED plus two or more years of administrative experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on clarity, professionalism, and timely delivery.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Strong critical thinking skills including identifying alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn HRIS and other Human Resources systems.
Our Competitive Package
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
This pay range is our competitive compensation at the time of this job posting. Your pay will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and applicable knowledge.
