HOW YOU WILL MAKE THIS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK
Directs and coordinates activities concerned with automotive equipment and operation and maintenance of automotive fleet repair and equipment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Performs service duties, supervises and coordinates activities of workers to ensure that all upkeep, inventory, and repair of the company’s automotive and equipment fleet are fully operational.

WHAT WE ENTRUST YOU TO DO
  • Coordinates activities of personnel conducting examinations and analysis on automotive equipment considered for acquisition based on factors such as operational performance, costs of operation and maintenance, operational safety, and compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Communicate any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the Fleet Operations Manager.
  • Schedule and direct work assignment and prioritize tasks.
  • Responsible for keeping logs of all maintenance services for each car/truck/equipment, including tracking mileage and recommending service work.
  • Scheduling 90 day inspections, repairs for defective DVIRs, and all other required regulatory compliance, such as BIT/DOT inspections.
  • Schedules and coordinates telematics installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Schedule testing and coordinating repairs on units that fall under ARB’s regulations for periodic opacity testing
  • Responsible  for opening/closing work orders, reviewing/coordinating warranty repairs, recalls, and smog checks.
  • Enter all information regarding new equipment/purchases into the Company’s systems, setting PM’s and warranty information.
  • Schedule testing and maintain current records of annual Cal OSHA/ Dielectric testing on required vehicles.
  • Schedule annual fire extinguisher and First Aid replacement on fleet vehicles.
  • Review and submit staff proposals for modifications to vendor or manufacturer.
  • Direct procurement of all types of company owned and operated automotive equipment and materials, supplies, and parts required to maintain automotive equipment, garages, and storage facilities in safe working order.
  • Coordinates automotive repair and maintenance services to obtain maximum utilization of automotive equipment and prevent operational delays in other departments.
  • Make recommendation for vehicle/equipment purchase requisitions.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including invoice and timecard approvals in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Respond to and address calls outside regular business hours to ensure continuous support and resolve urgent issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work preferred.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills a must
  • Inventory Control Software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) proficiency preferred
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record , Class A preferred

YOUR PRIOR EXPERIENCE
  • Required: Minimum of a high school diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a service manager working with gas and diesel engines, DOT/BIT, and hydraulics
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

COMPETITIVE PACKAGE
The pay range for the Fleet Service Manager in Paso Robles, CA is $84,000- to $108,000 yearly.
This pay range is our competitive compensation at the time of this job posting. Your pay will be determined based on a number of factors, such as experience, education, skills, and applicable knowledge.
